About Me

Flavia F.

My first dance class was a ballet class, as I was 6 years old. I have danced then ballet, modern dance, and hip-hop, but it was only during my university studies that I discovered partner-dances. Since then, I danced Salsa, Bachata, West-Coast Swing, and also some Forró, Kizomba, and Argentinian Tango.

I discovered Brazilian Zouk in 2019 at a Salsa, Bachata & Kizomba festival, and I found myself fully fascinated by the flowy movements of this dance. Soon after, I started to attend classes and workshops, and to travel to festivals all around Europe to learn as much as I could and to experience dancing with different people in different countries.

I am a person who loves learning, and I still attend Zouk classes and travel to improve my skills and my understanding of Brazilian Zouk. But I also love to share the knowledge I gained over the years to help others to discover this beautiful dance and to improve their skills and dance experience.

Nowadays, I have two projects which I take very much to heart: the Tango Into Zouk and the Zouk-Skillsharing projects in Hamburg, and I also do my very best to keep alive and grow further the zouk community that I created in Lüneburg.

The Tango Into Zouk project in Lüneburg and Hamburg started as a collaboration with the professional tango dancer and teacher Francesc Marsal. Together we work on finding new ways to bring together the tango technique and zouk flow.

The Zouk-Skillsharing in Hamburg is a no-profit oriented project based on the mutual sharing of the knowledge that other experienced dancers and I acquired over the years. We organize workshops on specific zouk-related topics and a social and practice time afterward. Everyone can volunteer to give a workshop or to contribute to the music for the social.

In Lüneburg I teach regular Zouk classes at the Leuphana University and I organize workshops, trainings, and socials, mostly free and open to everyone. And I am also available for private classes.

Feel free to contact me if you are interested in learning Brazilian Zouk or if you would like to know more!
